You ever roll your eyes at those people carrying around boiled chicken and steamed broccoli in tupperware into restaurants? Yeah, me too.

On the flip side... have you ever rolled your eyes at someone who talks about wanting a six pack and then dive head first into a pizza? Don't lie... you know you have (I have too, it's ok. We can be judg-ey together... in fact, I've actually BEEN that person!).

Honestly, if we could only roll our eyes at one - it would have to be the second one... right? Yes... just nod your head along with me and I will explain why.

That first person, while it might seem limiting or pretentious, is doing WHAT IT TAKES to reach their goals. It might not be how we choose to live our life. But it's their life, not ours... yes? YES.

The second... well they have goals but maybe lack the discipline or the knowledge to make the right decisions to get where they want to go (or perhaps it's their cheat meal).

It is important for everyone to remember that nutrition plays a vital role when trying to achieve physique and performance goals. In fact, some studies attribute nutrition responsible for up to 80% of results.

In today's modern society, we have become creatures of habit and of convenience. However, also in our society we are BUSIER than we ever have been. I'm not gonna lie, eating healthy takes some preparation and planning, so if you wait until you are heading home from work late to think about what you want to do for dinner... chances are good that you aren't going to make the choice that you might want to. And ZERO judgment here- I mean I get that! If I am getting home from work late, I am probably thinking about crushing a giant burrito into my face and settling into the couch to watch the last episode of The Bachelorette... not thinking about setting up in the kitchen to spend the next 30 to 60 minutes preparing a meal.

Sooooo THIS is where meal prepping comes in. When you know you have a solid block of time, probably 2-3 hours, prep your breakfasts, lunches, and dinners for the week, leaving less to chance and error. Or maybe you don't have to do the whole week, maybe when you are making dinner on Monday night, you just double the recipe so that you have leftovers for lunches or dinners later on in the week.

The takeaway from this, is that if you feel like you get frustrated about the food choices you are making, or if your progress has stalled, try meal prepping! It might feel like a lot of work at first, but really the amount of time that it will save you throughout the week is more than worth it.

If you need ideas or recipes to try that are easily made in bulk, shoot me an email!
